Okay, let’s cut the crap. You’re running around like a squirrel on three cold brews, juggling client work, emails, invoicing, and still somehow wondering why your brain feels like mashed potatoes. Here’s the truth bomb: working harder is not the fix. You don’t need more late nights, more sticky notes, or another planner you’ll forget about in a week. You need a workflow that’s actually got your back.
And no, I’m not talking about some boring corporate “synergy” nonsense. I’m talking about real, simple systems that stop you from reinventing the damn wheel every time a new client slides into your inbox. A step-by-step plan so you’re not constantly winging it, forgetting stuff, or waking up at 3am wondering, “Did I send that contract?”
Workflows are like your behind-the-scenes fairy godmother. They take care of the repeat, boring tasks. They keep clients from chasing you down for answers. They save you from those “oh shit” moments when something falls through the cracks. Basically, they give you your brain back.
And here’s the kicker: when you set up workflows, your biz feels smoother, your clients feel cared for, and you, my sweet friend? You finally have space to do the fun stuff and focus on the pieces of your business that got you started this whole thing in the first place.
I know this may be hard to hear, but burning the candle at both ends doesn’t make you a badass. It just makes you burnt out. What actually makes you unstoppable? Building systems that let you breathe, create, and still have time to live your damn life.
So next time you feel yourself slipping into “just work harder” mode, pause. Ask yourself:
Start small, tweak as you go, and boom, you’ve got yourself a workflow that works harder than you do.
Another tip I love to share is called SYSTEMS SUNDAY. This means that every Sunday you take a little time to either fine tune one of the systems you use in your business, like your workflow. Or, you can use this time to write out one of the systems you use so that you have it planned out and organized when you are ready to delegate or outsource that task. Because like I remind all my clients “Real Pros delegate the damn thing because outsourcing isn’t lazy, it’s leadership.”
